About Kiinara

Kiinara builds AI that fits the way people actually work ~ grounded in their domain, their data, and their day-to-day. We began in education, with a simple conviction: every student should walk into the AI age feeling powerful, not powerless.

Since 2023 we have shipped real systems for schools and organisations across India, Mozambique, and the UK. Our flagship is KiinaraOS, an AI operating system for schools, alongside Pulse, our multi-channel messaging platform built to reach families at scale.

The Team

Our design team sets the visual and interaction language for everything Kiinara ships. You will work directly with founders and engineers, owning the full process from discovery to pixel-perfect delivery.

We care about clarity, craft, and how design shapes behaviour. If you believe great design is invisible when it works and obvious when it doesn't ~ you will fit right in.

What you'll be doing

  • Own end-to-end design for product features across web and mobile ~ from early concept sketches to production-ready Figma specs.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to ground design decisions in how teachers, families, and school leaders actually behave.
  • Define and maintain the Kiinara design system, keeping every surface ~ KiinaraOS, Pulse, and beyond ~ consistent and coherent.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers so design intent survives all the way to production.
  • Contribute to brand identity, marketing pages, and pitch materials as the work demands.

What we're looking for

  • A strong portfolio showing product design across complex workflows or data-heavy interfaces.
  • Fluency in Figma and a working sense of how designs translate into code.
  • Experience running or contributing to user research ~ interviews, usability tests, or synthesis sessions.
  • Comfort in a fast-moving environment where scope evolves and feedback is direct.
  • An eye for typography, motion, and the small details that lift an interface from good to great.
